Since 2012, I started making traditional art in my spare time while working towards completing my B.Sc, sketching and painting animals and other subjects for fun. The more I drew, the more I started taking my art seriously, wanting to improve.
In 2020, I expanded to include digital art and soon after started a social media page under A Giants Might, a passion project bridging my love for science, photography and animals into one. I posted illustrations of birds and animals that I loved watching. I spent my time birding and flipping through field guides to look at the illustrations. The idea of seeing an illustration that looked like a replica of the real animal inspired me.
Through practice and posting more illustrations on A Giants Might, I started receiving commissions and independent contracts. After showcasing my artwork at multiple venues, the realization of turning this into a full time business became real. I opted to add certificates from Meta and Google for digital advertising and e-commerce. This allowed me to tie everything together under one roof as Sweet Honey Media.

Rather than continuing under the A Giant’s Might brand, I wanted to distance myself from my passion project, which had a narrow focus on animals and art. I wanted to create a service that could encompass all my talents as an artist and digital expert. The term Sweet Honey is actually a reference to my name, as Melina is derived from the word “Meli” which means Honey in Greek.
Whether you’re looking for commissioned art pieces, a new logo, digital advertising creatives, email marketing templates, or event photography SHM has the tools to get it all done under one roof!
